Carol O’Connor

Carol has over 15 years’ extensive drug development, managerial and project management experience working in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and device industries.

She has a very strong pharmaceutical development and CMC regulatory affairs background with scientific and technical knowledge in drug delivery combined with considerable business and commercial skills. She has managed a range of projects at all stages of drug development, for in-house development and partnering.

Carol is a Director of Pyrus Consulting, a niche consultancy specialising in supporting clients to successfully progress their R&D projects by providing expertise in drug development and programme management.

Before setting up Pyrus, Carol was Programme Director at Elan Drug Delivery Ltd, and previously held the same position at Quadrant Healthcare plc. During her five years as a Programme Director, she managed a number of internal and collaborative projects, one of which resulted in a $30M+ licensing deal with a large pharma company. Prior to this Carol undertook various roles at AstraZeneca in Pharmaceutical Development and Project Management.

Carol is a registered Pharmacist with a PhD from the University of Manchester


Jill Ogden 

Jill has over 20 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical, healthcare and drug delivery industries, combining broad commercial experience with a strong scientific background.

She has a successful track record of concluding technology and product licensing deals, establishing and developing partnerships and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements on a global basis. She has also gained valuable experience in strategic planning activities, particularly those associated with mergers and acquisitions.

Jill has held commercial positions in a range of companies including pSiMedica Ltd, Elan Drug Delivery Ltd, Quadrant Healthcare plc and Andaris Ltd. Her responsibilities have included establishing and developing corporate business development functions, market research, company profile/media relations activities, and IP portfolio management systems. She has also been responsible for identifying, evaluating and progressing new product and technology opportunities on a strategic basis.

Jill holds a PhD in Genetics from the University of Sheffield and in her early industrial career she held various R&D and project management roles at Delta Biotechnology Ltd.
